Early Life of Thomas Edison

As a young boy, Edison had an interest in science and inventing. Edison's mom had given him a science kit which developed his interest in science. On spare time he would use a small lab to conduct experiments. One day Edison was conducting an experiment in which caused a chemical fire. Edison also used his access to the railroad to conduct chemical experiments in a small laboratory he set up in a train baggage.

At age 11, he showed a voracious appetite for knowledge, reading books on a wide range of subjects. In this wide-open curriculum Edison developed a process for self-education and learning independently that would serve him throughout his life. One of Edison's failed inventions were a talking doll that seemed to be way ahead of that time periods tech.
Thomas Edison as a boy got ear scarlet fever and ear infections in Milan, Ohio during his childhood. Edison Built His First Lab at the Age of 10 in the basement of his family's home.
